Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza says his fight with Uriah Hall will go ahead as planned next month.
Earlier this week, UFC president Dana White confirmed that UFC 249 will go ahead as planned on April 18, although the event will take place behind closed doors, audience-free.
Although White didn’t announce a venue for UFC 249, Ronaldo Jacare Souza confirmed that his middleweight bout with Uriah Hall will feature on the preliminary card as originally planned.
The Brazilian announced the news on Instagram earlier today.
“Next Fight! #UFC249 Vs. Uriah Hall,” Souza posted on Thursday.
UFC 249 will feature the highly anticipated and much-talked about lightweight showdown between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson, where Khabib will put his lightweight title up for grabs in the main event. American Kickboxing Academy (AKA) head coach Javier Mendez believes the bout could take place in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates while Khabib’s father, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, thinks the bout will take place in Dubai.
UFC 249 was originally expected to take place at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York but the New York State Athletic Commission (NYSAC) pulled the plug on the event following the outbreak of COVID-19.
