This isn’t an official announcement, but it’s as close as we are going to get right now. Russian great Fedor Emelianenko (31-3, 1NC) posted that message via Twitter (@fedoroskol) on Thursday about an upcoming fight with Strikeforce champ Dan Henderson (27-8).
Using Google Translate, the message states “I look forward to final confirmation fight with Dan Henderson. It will be my great honor to meet this outstanding fighter.” A slightly better translation than the one posted by @UFC, but still something Fedor fans should get excited about.
Now, as I understand it, Fedor doesn’t actually do his own Tweeting, someone else relays his messages to the rest of the world.
From what I’ve read, it appears Strikeforce is looking to book this fight for July 30, with the Sears Center near Chicago in the lead as the likely venue for the event.
