Bringing you the weird and wild from the world of MMA each and every quarantined night!

Welcome to Midnight Mania!

Last night, Bellator and World Series of Fighting (WSOF) veteran Isaiah Chapman (9-4) was killed outside of his home in Akron, Ohio per a report from The Akron Journal.

At 9:40 P.M., officers responded to the sound of gunshots. When police arrived, they found a 30-year-old man on the street with gunshot wounds. He was transported to a nearby hospital, but unfortunately he was pronounced dead there. It’s since been confirmed that Chapman was the man described in the report, and both his family and the MMA community members have been paying respects online.

Chapman was a professional fighter for eight years and began his amateur career in 2010. His final fight was opposite top talent Patchy Mix, who submitted Chapman in the first round.

Currently, there are few other details available on his sudden death. A GoFundMe for his family and funeral costs has been established.

Insomnia

I hope this unexpected infusion of cash from UFC allows Tachi Palace Fights to start back up again.

Is it kind of f*cked up? Sure, but I still have a deep interest in seeing what UFC fights on a private island look like.

Let’s debate: how would prime Chuck Liddell fare in the modern UFC Light Heavyweight division? I think “Iceman” vs. No. 10-ranked Nikita Krylov would be a damn interesting match up, so that’s where my estimate stands.

Booking an island fight opposite Amanda Ribas would surely interrupt Paige VanZant’s busy schedule of three semi-nude Instagram posts per day.

Undefeated UFC champion vs. one thick boi

People with garage gyms are really stunting on the rest of us right now.

Slips, rips, and KO clips

Things didn’t end up working out, but I cannot help but admire Ristie’s Southpaw onslaught.

An absolutely savage ground strikes mauling — Horodecki tried to turn into the trapped arm and left himself extremely open to punches.

Like Frank Shamrock a few nights ago, it’s appalling that Jens Pulver is not in the Hall of Fame. Also, Jens Pulver: Driven is a solid MMA documentary for anyone looking to kill some time.

Stay hopeful!

Midnight Music: I didn’t have anything playing tonight, so I told my girlfriend to pick a song:

Sleep well Maniacs! More martial arts madness is always on the way.
