Vote now in the Bloody Elbow’s Baddest Tournament to determine the Greatest MMA Fight of All Time. Today we have #1 Don Frye vs. Yoshihiro Takayama taking on #8 Brock Lesnar vs. Shane Carwin.

The blue corner is on deck today for our BE’s BADDEST Tournament Series to figure out what is the single Greatest MMA Fight Of All Time — that one to watch before the world ends. Today we have the #1 ranked, Don Frye vs. Yoshihiro Takayama, taking on the #8 seed, Brock Lesnar vs. Shane Carwin.

In yesterday’s tournament matchup, the red corner saw #1 Weili Zhang vs. Joanna Jedrzejczyk go at it with #8 Ben Henderson vs. Anthony Pettis. It was a pretty competitive battle, but Weili vs. Joanna took it with 28 votes as Bendo vs. Pettis brought in 22 votes.

For today’s matchup, we’ve got a set of heavyweight fights going to war with one another. Both ended with a finish, with one being for the UFC belt and the other taking place in PRIDE FC.

Don Frye vs. Yoshihiro Takayama took place at PRIDE 21: Demolition on June 23, 2002 and went viral for all the right reasons. These old school vets quickly locked up in the single collar tie and agreed to stand there and smash one another in the face with their free hand. There may not be anything more macho than this match.

Brock Lesnar vs. Shane Carwin happened at UFC 116 on July 3, 2010 and was for the promotion’s unified heavyweight title. Carwin came out and beat the brakes off of Lesnar for just about the entire first round. Lots of toughness was showcased by the WWE superstar in Brock. Come the second act, Lesnar was still fresh and Carwin seemed to have punched himself out. Lesnar got the takedown and found a submission to become the UFC’s undisputed heavyweight champion.
