For today’s matchup, we will enjoy a savage light heavyweight slugfest taking on a frenetic featherweight firefight. One of them ended late in the second round, and the other one saw action for a full 15-minutes.
Wanderlei Silva vs. Brian Stann was the main event for UFC on FUEL TV 8 back on March 2, 2013. Wanderlei was back in Japan and came to put on a show in the Saitama arena he made a name for himself in. As for Stann, well this became the final fight of his MMA career and boy was he was up for a good ol’ fashioned shootout. This fight had tons of haymakers, loads of heart, and plenty of knockdowns. It even had a definitive ending with Silva pulling off the gritty second-round knockout.
Cub Swanson vs. Doo Ho Choi was part of the UFC 206 PPV main card and happened on December 10, 2016. Cub rocked Choi. Doo Ho hurt Swanson. Both men left everything in the cage that night in a poetic display of heart and courage. These warriors were swinging even when their gas tanks ran dry, and their chins held up until the final bell. When the dust had settled, it was Swanson who took home the hard-earned decision.
