Get hyped for the UFC’s return to action on May 9th with the latest Countdown show packed with behind the scenes footage.
The UFC is on track to return May 9th at UFC 249 and a little pandemic isn’t stopping them from providing some behind the scenes looks at some of the many headliners appearing at the event. ‘Countdown to UFC 249’ focuses on the pair of title fights featured at the top of the card: an interim lightweight title fight between Tony Ferguson and Justin Gaethje, and a bantamweight title showdown between Henry Cejudo and Dominick Cruz.
Of course, it’d be impossible to tell Ferguson’s story without including details from the fallout of that other UFC 249 card — the one that was supposed to go down on April 18th that was shut down at the 11th hour after the governor of California called the CEO of Disney, parent company to ESPN. No such craziness is expected this time. Florida leadership has welcomed the UFC into their state with open arms, and the UFC has been working on enhanced safety procedures to minimize the risk in these troubled times.
But enough about that bummer stuff. Take a look at the current lineup for the fight card:
