Amanda Nunes will defend her featherweight title against Felicia Spencer on June 6.
Amanda Nunes was expected to defend her women’s featherweight title against Felicia Spencer at UFC 249 but ‘The Lioness’ was forced out of the bout due to a ‘small ankle injury’, per American Top Team (ATT) head coach coach Conan Silveira.
The highly anticipated featherweight title bout has been rescheduled for June 6 and will take place an undisclosed location, according a recent report by MMA Fighting’s Guilherme Cruz.
ESPN’s Ariel Helwani first reported the matchup on Twitter.

The June 6 UFC event will also feature a bantamweight bout between former champ Cody Garbrandt and top-five ranked contender Raphael Assuncao. No further bouts have been announced for the event.
Nunes, the UFC women’s bantamweight and featherweight champion, is riding a ten-fight win streak and widely considered the greatest female fighter on the planet. The Brazilian last fought at UFC 245, where she defended her bantamweight title against former featherweight titleholder Germaine de Randamie.
Spencer, 29, is the former Invicta FC featherweight champion and sports a professional record of 8-1. ‘FeeNom’ has won all but two of her bouts via stoppage and has only ever lost to Cris Cyborg, who is widely considered one of the best female pound-for-pound fighters in the world.
