Check out the third episode of Embedded for UFC 249.
UFC 249 is almost here (finally), and as usual, Embedded is here as well. The show that gives you an inside look at the marquee contestants on PPVs has issued the second episode for this weekend’s big show in Jacksonville, and it serves as a brief introduction to the fighters at the top of the card.
We start off with Dominick Cruz in a pool, working on breathing. He has his arms tied behind his back and he’s bobbing in and out of the water. He enjoys training, and whether he’s preparing for a fight or not, he’s always going to do it. He then does a conference call, and him and Henry Cejudo trade barbs. Cejudo calls him brittle. He calls Cejudo short. Riveting.
Justin Gaethje and his coach are running through the airport with masks on. He’s in Jacksonville now, and he’s happy his bags made it with him.
They show how the fighters and employees are being tested at the hotel. Only two fighters at a time are going to be in the dressing room at any particular point. Francis Ngannou talks about the pandemic and his fight. The UFC’s chef talks about how this is a very different event from a food service angle. They’re prepared for so many events in a short time.
Tony Ferguson goes for a run. Gaethje does some media. His coach wants Tony to land one jab, just to messs Justin up a bit. Then he wants Gaethje to “f—k him up”.
And that’s it! UFC 249 goes down in Jacksonville this Saturday.
