Khabib Nurmagomedov saw to it that Conor McGregor is reminded of their previous encounter at UFC 229.
Since they met at UFC 229 in 2018, there has been a rift between Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov. As of right now, “The Eagle” holds the edge after defeating “The Notorious” via fourth-round submission.
But that did not stop McGregor for throwing tirades at the undefeated lightweight champion. On Monday, the Irishman went on a Twitter tirade directed at Khabib and his manager Ali Abdelaziz, while staking claim as Justin Gaethje’s next opponent.
In some of the posts, McGregor also hit at Khabib’s fighting style.
Justin, there is no danger in a man that hugs legs, we all know. Try and dance around what the real threat is here all you want.
I am going to fucking butcher you.
Your teeth. I’m going to put them on a fucking necklace.
Speak on my skills as a father?
You are fucking dead.— Conor McGregor (@TheNotoriousMMA) May 11, 2020
Khabib went on to post a tweet of his own, reminding McGregor of what transpired during the last time they shared the Octagon together.
Hug legs? Have you forgot how I knock you down, or you typing tweets drunk? Beat you in striking, parts you up in wrestling, absolutely destroy you in grappling, Made you grab air with your hands, and at the end you gave up. last one, don’t forget your words ‘it’s only business’

After defeating McGregor, Khabib defended his title for the second time at UFC 242 last September, submitting Dustin Poirier in the third round in Abu Dhabib. McGregor also got himself back in the win column with a 46-second TKO win over Donald Cerrone at UFC 246 in January.
Per UFC Dana White, the UFC of 249’s headline, which happens to be Justin Gaethje, will challenge Nurmagomedov next. However, he is also on board with booking the Khabib-McGregor rematch because Conor wants it “so bad.”
