Glover Teixeira will look to earn his fourth straight win and a possible move up the title race when he faces Anthony Smith in the main event of UFC Jacksonville tomorrow (Weds., May 13, 2020) in Jacksonville, Florida. Before then, let’s take a stroll down memory lane to see “Hands of Stone” show off his submission skills against Ion Cutelaba.

In April of 2019, Teixeira found himself staring down the “The Hulk” in Sunshine, Florida. As expected, the two power-packing men came out swinging early. During an exchange, Cutelaba clipped Teixeira with a spinning back fist, rocking the Brazilian-bomber and forcing him into a takedown attempt. Glover, though, recovered nicely to finish out the round.

The second frame pretty much started out like the first, with both men looking for the home run shot. Unfortunately for Ion, it seemed as if he slipped off a shove from Teixeira, which allowed “Hands of Stone” to get into guard. From there, Glover maneuvered his way around to take Cutelaba’s back thanks to some hard ground-and-pound offense. Once there, Teixeira sunk in an air-tight rear-naked choke to force the tap, proving that at 40 years of age he is still as dangerous as ever.
