Longtime UFC bantamweight title contender Urijah Faber, who also competed at featherweight in his illustrious mixed martial arts (MMA) career, tipped the scale at 153.5 on Friday ahead of the May 13 event on ESPN, taking place inside VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida.
Faber is not booked to compete at UFC on ESPN 8 and there are no lightweight bouts on the docket; however, there is an outside chance that Song Yadong get pulled from the event due to visa issues, giving Marlon Vera the chance to meet Faber at the heavier weight.

Nothing is official at this time, but it should be noted that Marvin Vettori, who lost his Karl Roberson bout at UFC Jacksonville earlier this week, also weighed in as an alternate. His light heavyweight mark of 203.5 makes him eligible for heavyweight since tomorrow’s line up does not feature anyone from the 205-pound weight class.
