It looks like the UFC’s planned event for May 30 now has a venue.
Last week, the UFC announced that it will be pushing back its May 23rd event to the next weekend. During the second Jacksonville show, Dana White assured the public that a final event for the month will take place, either in Las Vegas or somewhere else.
One of the Plan B options revealed was Arizona, which allowed the staging of professional sports events with no audience by May 16th. But on Wednesday, White confirmed that the May 30th event will be held in Las Vegas at his very own APEX facility.
“We are a go on the 30th,” the UFC president said in a text message to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
Nevada has an ongoing suspension of all combat sports events, which was imposed last March 14. As of Tuesday night, the Nevada Athletic Commission has made no official decision regarding the UFC’s attempt to hold their upcoming event in Las Vegas.
This week, the UFC confirmed the card’s headliner fight between former welterweight champion Tyron Woodley and Gilbert Burns.
