Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) recently finalized its five-round flyweight headliner for the upcoming UFC Fight Night event on Sat., June 13, 2020, locked and loaded for the UFC APEX facility in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Jessica Eye vs. Cynthia Calvillo.
Eye (15-7, 1 NC) dropped down to the 125-pound division back in 2018, putting together three straight victories and earning herself a shot at flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko. Unfortunately for the “Evil” veteran, “Bullet” shot her to pieces within two rounds.
Eye recently rebounded with a unanimous decision win over Viviane Araujo.
Calvillo (8-1-1) jumped out to a 5-1 record under the UFC banner after hooking up with the promotion roughly three years back. Her only blemish during that span was a decision loss to former strawweight champion and decorated wrestling standout Carla Esparza.
Calvillo is coming off a majority draw against Marina Rodriguez back in December.
Also going to war on the June 13 fight card are middleweight bruisers Karl Roberson and Marvin Vettori. In addition, Jordan Espinosa and Mark De La Rosa hook ‘em up at flyweight, while Andre Fili and Charles Jourdain throw down at 145 pounds.
The event is expected to stream entirely on ESPN+.
