Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is less than two weeks away from its Curtis Blaydes vs. Alexander Volkov heavyweight headliner, locked and loaded for the upcoming UFC Fight Night event on Sat., June 20, 2020, inside UFC APEX facility in Las Vegas, Nevada.
BetOnline has Blaydes opening as the -235 (20/47) favorite over “Drago,” who clocks in at +200 (2/1). Probably because “Razor” has one of the better wrestling games at 265 pounds and Volkov stands a lean and lanky 6’7” in height, ripe for getting tied up and taken down.
Which could lead to another bloodbath like this.
Blaydes (13-2, 1 NC) is riding a three-fight win streak, which includes his technical knockout victory over former champion, Junior dos Santos, at UFC Fight Night 166 back in January. “Razor” has only been defeated by heavyweight power puncher, Francis Ngannou, and has otherwise been perfect inside the Octagon.
Volkov (31-7) rebounded from an upset loss to Derrick Lewis to hand Greg Hardy the first defeat of his professional mixed martial arts (MMA) career. “Drago” has won seven of his last eight and stands at No. 7 in the official rankings, four spots below Blaydes at No. 3.
Also getting their hands dirty on the June 20 fight card are bantamweight bruisers Raquel Pennington and Marion Reneau. In addition, Roxanne Modafferi and Lauren Murphy hook ‘em up at flyweight, while Tecia Torres and Brianna Van Buren throw down at 145 pounds.
The event is expected to stream entirely on ESPN+.
