Cody Garbrandt still wants to avenge his two losses against T.J. Dillashaw.
Two of Cody Garbrandt’s toughest losses were against former Team Alpha Male comrade T.J. Dillashaw. But after the latter’s failed drug test and subsequent two-year suspension, “No Love” rubbed it in every chance he had.
If given the choice, Garbrandt says he would want to avenge those losses, given the circumstances surrounding the previous matchups.
“That’s a fight I’d like to get back,” Garbrandt said during the UFC 250 post-fight scrum (transcript by MMA Junkie). “We all knew what he was on. We all knew what he was doing. It took so many times for him to skate by USADA unfortunately.
“But, you know, he’s serving his sentence. He’s gonna always have to live with that the rest of his life. He has a child that has eyes on him, that knows his dad was a cheater.
“The whole world looked up to him, a lot of young kids. It’s sad,” he added. “I kind of feel bad for the guy. He has no confidence, that he has to use those kind of aids to be a fighter.”
The 28-year-old Garbrandt broke his three-fight skid on Saturday by knocking Raphael Assuncao out cold in the final second of round two. He took home a $50,000 bonus for Performance of the Night.
