UFC dual champion Amanda Nunes may have fought her last fight at UFC 250.
Out of the four “champ-champs” in UFC history, Amanda Nunes is the only fighter to keep both of her titles. A week ago at UFC 250, “The Lioness” defended her featherweight belt for the first time by outclassing Felicia Spencer for five full rounds.
With notable victories over Ronda Rousey, Cris Cyborg, Holly Holm, Miesha Tate, and Valentina Shevchenko, Nunes has pretty much established an inarguable “GOAT” status in women’s MMA. And after her most recent win, the 32-year-old Brazilian fighter is now considering retirement.
“Ah, I don’t know, I’ve achieved everything I wanted,” Nunes told Brazil’s Esporte Espetacular (translation via MMA Fighting). “I’m well, I can go on with my life, maybe a [take] new step, maybe find new talents, help some girls there…maybe be a coach, too.
“I’m in a moment that I can retire, you know, and I’m in a moment that I can fight. I’m fine. There’s nothing else to be done right now in the division. The Hall of Fame will come, for sure. My life going forward, if I do stop now, the UFC will give me every support I need to continue having my money and work.”
Nunes initially broached the idea of sitting out the rest of the year to focus on her child with wife Nina Ansaroff. She currently holds a record of 20-4 (with 16 wins by stoppage).
