Welterweights Vicente Luque and Randy Brown are reportedly scheduled for August 1.
After having their April 2020 bout cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic, it seems Vicente Luque and Randy Brown will still face each other this year. According to Combate’s report, the ‘Touch N’ Go’ podcast announced that the pair of welterweight finishers is now headed to the UFC Fight Night 172 card, in August.
In his last outing, Luque (18-7-1) scored a TKO victory in a rematch with Niko Price, back in May. The win came right after a unanimous decision loss to Stephen Thompson, in November 2019. Before the ‘Wonderboy’ defeat, the 28-year-old was on a six-fight winning streak in the Octagon, with victories over Mike Perry, Chad Laprise and Bryan Barberena, among others.
Currently on a two-fight winning streak, Brown (12-3) will look for his third straight win after beating finishing both Warlley Alves and Bryan Barberena in June and November of 2019. The wins came after a knockout loss to Niko Price, back in July 2018.
Now, Luque is expected to take on Brown at UFC Fight Night 172, on August 1, in a location yet to be determined. The card is expected to be headlined by a female bantamweight bout between former champion Holly Holm and contender Irene Aldana.
