A look at the current UFC rankings coming out of last weekend’s UFC Vegas 3 event.

UFC Vegas 3 did cause a slight ripple in the rankings of nearly every weight class, but there was nothing earth-shattering coming out of last weekend’s event. Josh Emmett and Shane Burgos put on an excellent co-main event fight that saw Emmett fight a full three rounds with a torn ACL and still defeat the iron-chinned Burgos. Unfortunately for Burgos though, that didn’t help his rankings place at all.

The main event went as Curtis Blaydes said it would, with him grinding out a decision over Alexander Volkov. He can’t really move up in the ranking though because he’s lost to Francis Ngannou twice.

Anyway, here’s a look at all the changes for this week.

Men’s P4P – No changes.

Heavyweight – Volkov’s loss dropped him one spot to eight, allowing Alistair Overeem to come back up a spot to seven. Ciryl Gane re-enters the rankings at 15.

Light Heavyweight – No changes.

Middleweight – Darren Till drops from a tie for four with Yoel Romero to take over the five spot on his own.

Welterweight – Leon Edwards is up one spot to four, dropping former champ Tyron Woodley to five. Vicente Luque passed another former champ, Robbie Lawler, for the number 12 position. Lawler is now at 13.

Lightweight – Donald Cerrone and Gregor Gillespie flip-flopped the 11 and 12 spots.

Featherweight – Emmett stayed put at eight despite his outstanding performance. As mentioned, Burgos inexplicably dropped four spots, likely due to the “briefs” that are being sent to UFC rankings panelists. He now sits in a tie for 14. Five fighters – Dan Ige, Arnold Allen, Jose Aldo (?), Ryan Hall, and Sodiq Yusuff moved up one spot each to ten through 14 respectively.

Bantamweight – Cody Garbrandt moved up into a tie for four with Cory Sandhagen.

Flyweight – Tim Elliott and Jordan Espinosa flip-flopped the 12 and 13 spots.

Women’s P4P – Cynthia Calvillo is up one spot to 14, dropping the inactive Nina Ansaroff to 15.

Women’s Bantamweight – Raquel Pennington re-entered the top five with her win over Marion Reneau, pushing Irene Aldana down to six. Julia Avila enters the rankings at 15.

Women’s Flyweight – Murphy is up three spots to tie Jessica Eye for the four spot. Jennifer Maia and Roxy drop one spot each to six and seven.

Women’s Strawweight – Felice Herrig gets a fight announced and suddenly she’s up two spots to 13. Angela Hill and Amanda Ribas drop to 14 and 15 respectively.
