Former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar is attempting to cut down to the 135-pound division and based on the above social media post from manager Ali Abdelaziz, it appears “The Answer” is just 10 pounds away.
Where those 10 pounds will come from on his already-skinny frame has yet to be determined, but I can assure you that July 13 will not be a very fun day for Edgar, who will need to make weight on July 14 and then fight an experienced bantamweight on July 15.
Pedro Munhoz, to be exact.
The submission-savvy Munhoz (18-4, 1 NC) is currently ranked No. 7 in the bantamweight division and should prove to be a stiff test for the incoming Edgar. “The Young Punisher” has won three of his last four, including his technical knockout win over Cody Garbrandt at UFC 235 roughly one year back.
Edgar (23-8-1), meanwhile, hasn’t competed since getting zombified by Chan Sung Jung last December, a memory that can easily be erased with a victory in the UFC Abu Dhabi co-main event next month on Yas Island.
