Tyron Woodley is eager to turn his fortunes around in 2020 but is no position to call shots.

The itch for fighting is alive and strong in Tyron Woodley.

Woodley (19-5-1) is hungry to bounce back from the first losing streak of his professional athletic career. The former UFC welterweight champion expressed an eagerness to clock two more fights in 2020 during a recent Instagram Live session.

“I want to fight two more times this year,” Woodley said (h/t MMAJunkie). “So we are right now in June. I feel like if I can get one on the books sometime in the near future then it still leaves me with November or December to fight again. I want to fight two more times this year. I want to just really knock out some fights. I’m excited about it. I’m ready to get back in there and get after it.”

Woodley has been linked to a number of welterweights in the past, including the loudmouth title challenger Colby Covington and simmering contender Leon Edwards.

“I can’t think of anybody off the top of my head like, ‘Oh, let me fight this motherf—ker,’” Woodley said. “If you lose a fight you don’t be coming out of the gate like, you ain’t really in a position to call anybody out. You kind of just got to take a seat, sit down, be humble, get back on the grind, get ready to beat somebody up. But you don’t really get to call the shots like that, at least I don’t think you should. Some people do. You know you who are.”

Woodley is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Gilbert Burns at UFC Vegas on May 30. He lost his UFC welterweight championship to Kamaru Usman at UFC 235 in March 2019.
