Check out the first episode of Embedded for UFC 251.
UFC 251 is almost here, and as usual, Embedded is here as well. The show that gives you an inside look at the marquee contestants on PPVs has issued the first episode for this weekend’s big show in UFC Apex, and it serves as a brief introduction to the fighters at the top of the card.
We start off at McCarran Airport in Vegas, as the fighters and crew prepare to fly to Abu Dhabi. Max Holloway and Paige VanZant are temperature checked as they board. PVZ is set up in a pretty nice seat, and says it’s the nicest setup she’s ever had on a plane. Rose Namajunas is FaceTiming with her mom as Pat Barry gets settled.
Holloway talks about how crazy it is that he has a door next to him on his flight for privacy, and compares that to all the first responders out there risking their lives to fight COVID. It’s a crazy world. The plane is pitch black. Namajunas eats a meal and loves that she had some caviar when she boarded. Holloway is taking one fight at a time.
Everyone was pretty happy about the flight. Namajunas took the pajamas and said they’re nicer than her own clothes. Holloway says he’ll still be hiking, but just around his own hotel room. PVZ says she can cut her weight outside because it’s so hot.
Everyone shows up at the hotel. They get a temperature check and a COVID test, then they’re in quarantine till the results come back. There will be no outside exposure.
Kamaru Usman and Kamaru Usman are preparing to fly. Usman has to do the testing process all over again. He’s excited to be defending his belt.
And that’s it! UFC 251 goes down this Saturday night on Fight Island in Abu Dhabi.
