Check out the second episode of Embedded for UFC 251.
UFC 251 is almost here, and as usual, Embedded is here as well. The show that gives you an inside look at the marquee contestants on PPVs has issued the second episode for this weekend’s big show on Fight Island in Abu Dhabi, and it serves as a brief introduction to the fighters at the top of the card.
We start off with featherweight champ Alex Volkanovski, who says Abu Dhabi is hot. He’s trying to train around the same time he’s going to fight so his body adjusts. Over in Jessica Andrade’s room, she talks about her schedule. Her coach says this training camp has been more stressful due to the unique situation. He discusses them coming off the biggest loss of her career.
Rose Namajunas is training in her room. Her fiance Pat Barry has done most of the work with her, and Trevor Wittman gives Barry some props for his training. Over in Max Holloway’s room now. Usually he goes hiking in new places, but he’s quarantined so he is joking around about hiking in his hotel room. His gym is still closed, so it’s been a unique camp. He imitates the Kickboxer movie while hitting pads.
Volkanovski is hitting pads in his own room as well. His coach wasn’t expecting to get a fight during COVID, but they did. He had to get permission from the Australian government to get a team together to train. They’re having some fun.
Jorge Masvidal is wearing a pink Versace robe and a Trump mask. Wow. He talks to the nutrition guy about the food that’s been prepared for him. He takes some pics with the staff.
And that’s it! UFC 251 goes down this Saturday on Fight Island.
