Bringing you the weird and wild from the world of MMA each and every weeknight!

Welcome to Midnight Mania!

Whenever a title changes hands, the division heats up, as all new potential title matches open up. Shockingly, bad blood rises up too! In the case of the Bantamweight division, Petr Yan’s recent ascension to the throne at UFC 251 (HIGHLIGHTS) already has him trading barbs with former champion Cody Garbrandt.

During Yan’s fight with Aldo, “No Love” took the first shot, but Yan fired right back the next morning.

That quick conversation went down over the weekend, but Yan went back online today to throw another shot at Garbrandt. Still on “Fight Island,” Yan met up with former opponent Urijah Faber, a team mate and coach of Garbrandt’s at Team Alpha Male. Faber is set to corner Ricardo Ramos and Nad Narimani in the next few days, but Yan grabbed him for a photo-op … and used the opportunity to trade shots with Garbrandt once more.

Garbrandt is fresh off one of the best knockouts of the year (watch it!), but that was his first victory back following a string of defeats. Aljamain Sterling deserves the next shot at the crown — Yan himself agreed at the post-fight press conference — so it seems like this beef will have time to build before the two actually get to trade blows.

All the same, UFC has been siding more with the money matches rather than who necessarily deserves the opportunities, so don’t be surprised if “No Love” finds himself in a title fight sooner than later.

Speaking of “Aljo,” that man ain’t right.

Dave Meltzer is one of the most credible sources on pay-per-view (PPV) numbers, and he doesn’t believe UFC 251 sold quite as much as claimed.

Kelvin Gastelum is looking quick ahead of his upcoming bout with Jack Hermansson. Also, should UFC’s Fight Island events show some footage of these guys working out on the beach?

Jon Anik contemplates his future, and if that guy keeps making tattoo bets, he might end up being right!
