Mike Perry finally got the chance to train with Yoel Romero.
Mike Perry entered the Octagon at UFC on ESPN 12 without any professional coaches in his corner, but ‘Platinum’ was still able to get the job done against Mickey Gall, beating his fellow UFC welterweight via dominant unanimous decision to snap a two-fight losing skid.
Perry, who was cornered by his girlfriend, revealed in his UFC on ESPN 12 post-fight interview that he was planning to relocate to Miami to train with feared UFC middleweight Yoel Romero.
“South Florida has got a lot of good guys and I kinda want to work with Yoel Romero. I want to get some beef inside of myself to feel that 185lb weight class. I wanna learn how to fight one of the best guys there so I can fight a middleweight Englishman (Darren Till).”
Well, judging by a recent Instagram post, Romero seems to have taken Perry up on his offer and invited him to American Top Team (ATT) for some ‘terrorizing workouts’.
“Yolo Romero! Terrorizing workouts.” Perry posted on social media earlier this week.
Perry ditched his team at Fusion XL Academy prior to his fight with Gall, but the 28-year-old is still without a permanent team. Perry is currently unranked at welterweight but is one of the most popular fighters in the division.
