UFC vet and first-time survivalist Elias Theodorou thinks he’s found a safe source of drinking water.
In the third installment of our four-part series, former TUF winner and UFC vet Elias Theodorou continues his survival experience, under the watchful—albeit distant—eye of Les Stroud aka Survivorman.
In the last episode, Elias tried and failed, but eventually succeeding in lighting a fire. That meant he could keep warm and boil drinking water. The smoke from the fire is also essential for keeping away bugs, like mosquitoes, which had thus far feasted on the pro fighter.
In this episode Elias continues to struggle with making camp. As he does, he tries to keep himself hydrated. However, he doesn’t trust the water boiling process. He also yearns for a cool drink of water. This leads to him drinking directly from the creek… something Elias said was scarier than getting hit in the face.
When talking about how hard this survival experience is, Elias relates back to the hardest moment of his fighting career; his bout with Thiago Santos. Elias shares how ‘survival mode’ in MMA is a real thing and that there are some parallels between that and what he is experiencing in the bush.
Also in this episode Elias gets another helping hand from Les, in the shape of something that might help with all the bugs.
