UFC middleweight Trevin Giles told everyone he felt healthy after his fainting episode at UFC Vegas 5.

Three fighters were withdrawn from UFC Vegas 5 before the weigh-ins started. On fight day Gerald Meerschaert versus Ed Herman was scratched after Meerschaert tested positive for COVID-19. Then, during the event, Trevin Giles versus Kevin Holland was called off when Giles fainted backstage.

Giles regained consciousness backstage, but was then hospitalized for a full examination. Last night Giles took to Instagram to tell his followers how he was feeling after the incident.

“Hey everybody I’m all good, at the hospital here,” said Giles. “I’m not sure what really happened, but, I don’t know, the fight ended up getting canceled, as I’m sure you guys know. I’m all good. I feel healthy. It’s a shame this fight couldn’t happen. I guess, the big picture is I’m good. I guess, Holland, we’ll have to reschedule that man. Alright, appreciate all the support and everyone worried about me.”

Giles wasn’t the only fighter hospitalized after fainting at UFC Vegas 5. Flyweight contender Joanne Calderwood lost consciousness backstage after her submission loss to Jennifer Maia in the co-main event.

Last night Giles was due to make his sixth appearance for the UFC. The middleweight entered the promotion with a KO win over James Bochnovic at UFC 213 in 2017. He followed that up with a KO win over Antonio Braga Neto.

After that Giles took back-to-back submission losses to Zak Cummings and Gerald Meerschaert. In his last fight, at UFC 247 in February, Giles got back to winning ways with a split decision victory over James Krause.
