A look at the changes in the UFC rankings this week.
UFC Vegas 5 went down last weekend, and it featured barely any fights. Injuries, COVID, and other issues narrowed down the card to just eight bouts, with only a couple involving ranked fighters.
With that being said, both the co-main event and the headliner did deliver some excitement and caused some movement in the rankings. Derek Brunson is rising at middleweight after taking away Edmen Shahbazyan’s undefeated record, while Jennifer Maia upset Joanne Calderwood and took a title fight from her grasp.
Here’s a look at the changes this week.
Men’s P4P – No changes.
Heavyweight – Walt Harris dropped from a tie for ten to take over the 11 spot on his own.
Light Heavyweight – No changes.
Middleweight – Brunson is up one to seven, dropping Kelvin Gastelum to eight. Shahbazyan fell one spot to ten, letting Uriah Hall move up one to nine.
Welterweight – Vicente Luque and Geoff Neal flip-flopped the ten and 11 spots.
Lightweight – No changes.
Featherweight – No changes.
Bantamweight – No changes.
Flyweight – No changes.
Women’s P4P – No changes.
Women’s Bantamweight – No changes.
Women’s Flyweight – Maia moves up three big spots to three. Calderwood fell two into a tie for five with Jessica Eye.
Women’s Strawweight – No changes.
