Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will pull the trigger on UFC 252, which takes place inside UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada, TONIGHT (Sat., Aug. 15, 2020), streaming live online via ESPN+. The pay-per-view (PPV) event will feature reigning Heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic, who defends his 265-pound strap in a rubber match against familiar foe — and former division kingpin — Daniel Cormier in what could be the final fight of his illustrious combat sports career. UFC 252 also hosts the Bantamweight “Sugar Show” between rising 135-pound star, Sean O’Malley, against 14-fight Octagon journeyman, Marlon Vera, as well as another hard-hitting Heavyweight showdown between top-ranked division contenders, Junior dos Santos and Jairzinho Rozenstruik.

Miocic with a jab and 1-2, eats an overhand right in return. He takes a finger in the eye soon after and takes some time to recover. They trade low kicks upon resuming. Round one: They trade low kicks to start. O’Malley with a teep downstairs. Leg kick lands. Both try to kick at once. One minute in. Another calf kick prompts Vera to switch stance. Vera tries a front kick, eats a body kick. He’s unable to deal with the range so far. Two minutes in. Head kick attempt. O’Malley continuing to circle, avoids a front kick. Two minutes to go.
O’Malley appears to injure his leg stepping in. Vera pressing forward, blocks an overhand right. Another leg kick spins O’Malley around. Vera tries a head kick. One minute to go. O’Malley denies a clinch, fires right hands. He opens up, then his leg gives out. Vera follows him down into guard and blasts him with elbows and punches; O’Malley appears to go out for a millisecond on the first elbow, then wakes up as the follow-up shots rain down. The ref steps in. O’Malley is in horrible agony, clutching his leg. Replay shows he badly twisted his foot.

Round one: Low kick from dos Santos to start. Rozenstruik lands one not long after, takes a jab and right to the body. One minute in. dos Santos front kick strays low, head kick blocked. dos Santos fires a lead right and eats a counter. Low kick catches dos Santos in the jewels. Round one: Heavy overhand right lands for Pineda in the early going. Burns takes him down, eats an elbow after Pineda stands. Pineda digs a hook to the body and takes him down into guard. One minute in. Short shots from Pineda. Solid punches. He passes to half guard. He stands over Burns two minutes in and drops a right hand. Burns brings up his legs, eats some short shots. Pineda continues to chisel away. Two minutes to go.
Burns weirdly helpless off of his back so far. Heavy punches by Pineda. Heavy right hands, postures out of a triangle, big elbow with a minute to go. Pineda continues to pile up punches and elbows. 10-8 Pineda.
Round two: Low kick from Burns. Lead right hand into an outside reap into half guard. Pineda looks to regain guard. Burns drops punches and looks for the back as Pineda stands. Miller tries a body kick. Superman punch into a takedown and he latches onto Pichel’s back. Miller has one hook in, nearly gets the choke with a minute to go. Now setting up a guillotine. Pichel breaks his grip. Miller rolls for a calf slicer in the waning seconds. 10-9 Miller.
Round two: Miller shoots through a head kick to land on top in guard. Staying heavy near the fence. One minute in. Pichel kicks him away and lands an upkick as he stands, then puts Miller on the fence. Miller looks for a front headlock as he’s taken down in return. Pichel sets up in his guard two minutes in. Miller brings up a rubber guard, Pichel passes to side control in response. Miller regains half guard, then guard. He turns for a kneebar, doesn’t have the knee inside with two minutes to go.
Pichel drops some left hands as he retakes half guard. Staying heavy now. Short elbows. One minute to go. He tries to posture for a right hand. Lands the next right hand, briefly considers an arm triangle. He opens up with ground-and-pound in the last few seconds. 10-9 Pichel.
Round three: Pichel presses forward with punches and changes levels, taking Miller down against the fence. Both men consider kimuras. Good right hand as he passes to side control, knee to the body. Miller rolls for a leg, loses it and eats a right hand a minute in. He gives up the back and Pichel puts in a hook. Both hooks in. Miller turns, grabs a front headlock. Now he pulls guard for a guillotine, loses it, lands on top in half guard two minutes in. Pichel gets to a knee, now Miller looking for the back. Pichel stands in the scramble, Miller pressing him against the fence. Pichel lands some Browne elbows and a knee upstairs. Hard knee on the break. Miller looking tired. Pichel fires right hands and changes levels. Can’t get the single-leg, fires knees. Miler reverses on the fence. Pichel fires a head kick on the break with a minute to go. Round one: Jandiroba immediately shoots and completes the double-leg with an outside reap. On top in half guard. Looking for side control. Herrig tries to stand, unable to but regains guard. Punches form Jandiroba, looks for the back a minute in. Herrig gets to the fence, has a hand pinned. Jandiroba mounts her, spins for an armbar, and there’s the tap. Beautiful work by Jandiroba.

Round one: Low kick exchange to start. Chavez wheel kick falls just short. Hard counter right stings Brown, who eats a low kick afterwards. They trade, Brown lands a left hook. Another low leg kick by Chavez a minute in. Jabs from Brown. Body kick attempt. Lots of feints after a fast start. Brown shoots, denied. Low kick drops Brown, who switches stance. Chavez tries a head kick. Low kick from Brown, dropped by another calf kick. Chavez lets him up. Brown lands a combo with two minutes to go.
Both whiff on the fence. Chavez leg kick, then another as Brown switches back from southpaw. Brown answers a low kick with a body shot and right cross. One minute to go. Body kick from Brown, eats another calf kick and tries to shoot. He counters a low kick with a two-piece. Body kick by Brown, blocks a head kick. 10-9 Chavez.
Round two: They trade low kicks early. One minute in. Head kick just blocked, heavy low kicks have Brown staggering. Chavez 1-2, takes a glancing counter left. Brown steps in with a knee downstairs and they tie up on the fence. Separation two minutes in. Straight left from Brown, then a body kick. Combination lands for him on the fence. Both land in the center. As they trade, a straight right drops Brown and Chavez looks to jump on him. He sets up in guard with two minutes to go.

Brown swings a right hand, can’t get the takedown and eats another low kick. Body kick by Chavez. Brown backs him to the fence and they slug it out until he shoots. Denied two minutes in. Round one: Yoder attempts an early back take, only for Souza to slip out the back door and set up in guard. Elbow from the Brazilian. One minute in. Staying heavy, chipping away with short punches. Souza postures up and lands a nasty right hand, looking to follow up as Yoder stands. Lead right by Souza. Two minutes in. Right hand to the body. Yoder shoots, denied. Body kick lands. Low kick from Souza, caught by a teep. Two minutes to go.
Two heavy right hands land for Souza, who blocks a head kick. Yoder still sending out rear-leg kicks. Souza puts her on the fence, gets caught in a front headlock, ducks out of it when Yoder tries to lock up a guillotine. One minute to go. Yoder keeping her against the fence, looks for a single-leg. Round one: They trade punches in the center to start. Both fire right hands, hard rights inside by Porter. Daukaus responds with some heavy rights of his own and jockey for position on the fence a minute in. Body punches in the clinch, elbow, right on the break by Daukaus. Porter lands a combination, eats one in return. Low kick lands for him. Two minutes in. Daukaus lands a leg kick in return. Two right hands an da knee. Low kick. Jab exchange. Porter pushes him back with a combination, slips the return fire. Two minutes to go.
Another Daukaus low kick. Porter tries a haed kick and counter right, neither connect. As they trade in the center, Daukaus lands about a four punch combination that sends Porter crumbling to the mat. Porter somehow gets back to his feet and goes back on the attack. Low kick lands for him. Daukaus lands a combo, eats one in return. Another brutal sequence of punches by Daukaus send Porter staggering back and a knee sends him to the mat, where Daukaus polishes him off.
