Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is looking to bring some closure to the Mauricio Rua vs. Paul Craig rivalry, after the two heavyweight bangers battled to a draw in the UFC Fight Night 164 co-main event last November in Brazil.
That’s according to ESPN.
Their rematch looks to be set for the upcoming UFC 255 pay-per-view (PPV) event, scheduled for Nov. 21, 2020 in either Las Vegas or Abu Dhabi. The promotion is still working out its live events schedule for the remainder of the calendar year.
Rua (27-11-1) has appeared just once since his tie with Craig, outpointing Antonio Rogerio Nogueira in last month’s UFC on ESPN 14 lineup. As for the Scottish “Bearjew,” he also competed on the July 25 fight card, submitting Russian bruiser Gadzhimurad Antigulov.
UFC 255 will be headlined by the championship doubleheader pitting flyweight kingpin Deiveson Figueiredo opposite Cody Garbrandt, not long after Valentine Shevchenko defends her 125-pound strap against Jennifer Maia.
Expect more UFC 255 fight card announcements in the coming weeks.
