Yet again a UFC card has seen a fight fall through due to a positive COVID-19 test on the day of the event.
UFC on ESPN 15’s co-main event has been wiped out due to COVID-19.
Light heavyweight Ovince Saint Preux tested positive for the virus on fight day and has been pulled from his matchup with Alonzo Menifield. OSP’s management said that he is without symptoms at the moment and that the fight has been rescheduled for September 5th.
For safety precautions the @003_OSP fight will be removed from the card tonight and reschedule for 9/5. He battled Covid previously and presented both + and – tests this week. He currently has no symptoms and his cornermen are all clear. #ufc

It’s been a whirlwind last couple of days for the UFC. Mark Striegl was pulled from his bout with Timur Valiev due to a positive COVID-19 test, Takashi Sato wasn’t medically cleared to fight Daniel Rodriguez, Caleb Born withdrew for personal reasons against Dwight Grant, so Grant and Rodriguez are now fighting each other. This went from 11 fights on Thursday to 9 today.
We think Frankie Edgar vs. Pedro Munhoz is still the main event. Maybe. Hopefully. UFC on ESPN 15 only has nine fights left and the co-main went from Yoel Romero vs. Uriah Hall to Ovince Saint Preux vs. Alonzo Menifield to probably Mike Rodriguez vs. Marcin Prachnio. Yup!
Main card (ESPN/ESPN+ at 8:30 p.m. ET)
Pedro Munhoz vs. Frankie Edgar
Marcin Prachnio vs. Mike Rodriguez
Mariya Agapova vs. Shana Dobson
Daniel Rodriguez vs. Dwight Grant
Preliminary Card (ESPN+ at 6 p.m. ET)
Amanda Lemos vs. Mizuki Inoue
Austin Hubbard vs. Joe Solecki
Ike Villanueva vs. Jordan Wright
