Adesanya tells Costa to behave himself during fight week: “I’ve got the gang with me”

Israel Adesanya sends a stern warning to Paulo Costa ahead of UFC 253.

Israel Adesanya wants Paulo Costa on his best behavior ahead of UFC 253, warning the Brazilian that things could get physical if ‘Borrachinha’ tries anything stupid during fight week.

Adesanya, who has labelled Costa a ‘big, inflated ignoramus’ with one of the dumbest fighting styles in the sport, sent a stern warning to the undefeated contender ahead of their middleweight title bout next month.

“I’ve got the gang with me. So, if he wants to try something stupid with white glasses and fucking cringe King whoever, bring it. My gang versus your gang. But I’d rather whoop his ass in the cage,” Adesanya told Submission Radio in a recent interview.

‘The Last Stylebender’ has promised a ‘Shutout of the Year’ performance against Costa at UFC 253, with Adesanya claiming that he will make a fool of Costa by exposing how one-dimensional and ‘dumb’ he really is.

“I think a performance of the year, shutout of the year, shutdown of the year maybe. ‘Fight of the Year?’ I’ve already had that in my back pocket, but if it happens again – I just don’t think it’s going to happen just because of the situation. You have to be smart enough to put it together. This guy gasses after the first round. We’ve got five rounds. Look at me in all my fights in the fifth round, in the fourth round, the third round, the later rounds – I’m always fresh. So, yeah, precision is going to be the key in this fight. Precision, skill and just taking him out one by one.”

UFC 253: Adesanya vs. Costa is scheduled to take place on September 26 at a TBD location.
