Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight title contender Nick Diaz (26-9, 2 NC) is expected to make his Octagon return at some point in early 2021 after recently completing a mock weight cut to evaluate his level of fitness.
Dana White remains unconvinced.
“Listen, the Nick Diaz thing … first of all, we would never have released that or done that,” White said of the recent Diaz video. “We’ll see how this thing plays out. I don’t have any expectations whatsoever. There’s been talking, but there’s been talking for years.”
Mostly from Diaz, who is also contemplating a career at Walmart.
In order for Diaz, 37, to convince White and Co. he’s serious about a UFC comeback, he’ll first have to complete six-months of USADA drug testing, then get over the negotiating hump that nearly sent him to Bellator MMA the last time he contemplated an Octagon return.
