More media bulls—t?

UFC President Dana White has a history of distancing himself from fighters who run into trouble with Johnny Law, which is probably why he told the combat sports media that Conor McGregor was retired after “Notorious” got detained last week in Corsica.

But once the hubbub from that overseas incident started to die down, White changed gears and revealed “fun stuff” in the works for the power-punching Irishman, who is currently negotiating an Octagon return for some point in early 2021.

“We’re actually working on some fun stuff for Conor at the beginning of next year,” White said on SportsCenter. “He should be back next year. I’m not saying he’s coming back to fight guaranteed, but we’re talking right now about some stuff.”

McGregor, 32, retired from MMA back in June. Since “Notorious” has already pulled the “I’m done!” card several times in his relatively short career, very few fans (and fellow fighters) took his latest retirement at face value (probably because of this).

“We had some very interesting talks with the UFC recently,” McGregor’s agent, Audie Attar, revealed to ESPN. “We are excited about the future and working on some fun things. Exciting things to come in the near future.”

McGregor (22-4) has not competed since smashing Donald Cerrone last January.
