The extent of Tyron Woodley’s injury after UFC Vegas 11 is now known.

Tyron Woodley has revealed the injury that led to his stoppage loss against Colby Covington in the main event of UFC Vegas 11.

Ariel Helwani of ESPN posted a photo of a X-Ray scan provided to him by Woodley that showed he has a broken rib. According to Woodley, the rib was popped early on in the fight and caused him “the most pain ever” after he attempted to get up from a submission he was going for in the fifth round.

The fight between Woodley and Covington hit the mat several times, but it was the last one that brought about the end of the fight. Woodley was going for a guillotine choke, which Covington maneuvered out of, but not before Woodley cried out in pain over his rib. He remained on the floor in visible pain for a couple of minutes before being helped out of the cage.

At the time of the stoppage, Woodley knew he injured something, but did not realize the extent of his injury until he went to the hospital to be checked out. Per Helwani, Woodley has returned to the fighter hotel and resting after being discharged from the hospital.

Woodley, who was the former UFC welterweight champion, has now lost three straight fights for the first time in his career. He lost his championship to Kamaru Usman at UFC 235, dropped an unanimous decision to Gilbert Burns at UFC on ESPN: Woodley vs. Burns and now the Covington loss. All three outings have been shutouts of Woodley, which is being used as reason for the former champion to consider possible retirement from mixed martial arts.

At this time, there is no word on how long the recovery will be for Woodley.
