Jan Blachowicz has received a hero’s welcome in Poland following his title win over Dominick Reyes at UFC 253 this past Saturday.

Blachowicz, who TKO’d Reyes in the UFC 253 co-main event to capture the vacant light heavyweight title, touched down in Poland earlier this week and was mobbed by fans and media upon his arrival at Warsaw airport.

Blachowicz joins fellow Pole and former strawweight champ Joanna Jedrzejczyk in becoming the second Polish fighter to win a UFC title. Joanna wasn’t seen in the video clip above but the 33-year-old had promised to meet Blachowicz prior to UFC 253.

Blachowicz wants to ‘celebrate a little bit’ at home before there’s any talk of his first title defense.

“You know, it’s a long journey for me, but I’m finally at the top,” Blachowicz said at the UFC 253 post-fight press conference (via MMA Junkie). “It’s an amazing feeling. There are no words. How to describe this how I feel right now. My mind is in different place right now, somewhere into space.”

“Now I want to celebrate a little bit. First celebrating, soon I’m going to be a father, so I’d like to focus on that also. And after that we can talk about next opponent and first defense. But now I just want to celebrate. I have to come back to Poland, hug my mom, see my father and drink some beer with him.”
