After Rose Namajunas defeated Jessica Andrade at UFC 251 last July on “Fight Island,” it stamped her ticket to trying to reclaimed the women’s Strawweight title, which is currently on the possession of division queen, Weili Zhang.

And according to the assessment of women’s Flyweight champion, Valentina Shevchenko, “Thug Rose” should have little trouble dethroning the punishing bruiser once fight night rolls around.

“I know Rose and I train with her. So I am going to say that if Rose going to be in same physical and mental condition that I know her, she is going to win easy,” predicted :bullet” during a recent chat on “The Schmozone” podcast. But after a while, Shevchenko backtracked on her “easy” comment.

“Well, not easy but she will beat her. Weili is tough as well and she don’t want to lose and she is going to prepare. Not easy, but she she is going to win.”

Zhang has proven to be a dominant combatants, winning 21 straight fights, including all five of her UFC fights, winning the title in 2019 via first round knockout over Jessica Andrade. She then defended the strap in a memorable five-round war against former division champion, Joanna Jedrzejczyk.

As for Namajunas, her win over Andrade was her fourth in last five outings, putting her in prime position to battle for the strap again. And though the fight has yet to be finalized it is expected to take place in late 2020 or early 2021.

What say you, Maniacs, is Shevchenko’s prediction spot on?
