Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier recently came to an agreement to take part in a rematch inside the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Octagon either in November or December, depending on when the promotion can get the details ironed out.

As part of the deal, “Notorious” agreed to keep his promise and donate $500,000 to Poirier “Good Fight Foundation,” a stipulation he threw in while trying to set up a charity fight with “The Diamond” before UFC came knocking.

Upon catching wind of the fight news, Tony Ferguson blasted Poirier for “selling out” and accepting money from an “international terrorist.”

“What A Sell Out, Taking A Bribe From An International Terrorist. Good Job Kid,” wrote “El Cucuy” on Twitter. “I Represent America. All That Talk About The Fight Game Only To Be Afraid & Be Left Behind Out Of The Loop. Take The Money & Be Proud Fake,” he concluded.

Ferguson and Poirier were in talks to throw down at UFC 254 on Oct. 24, 2020 on “Fight Island” before contract negations between Dustin and UFC stalled. In fact, Ferguson even stepped up to the plate and lobbied for “The Diamond” in his efforts to get more money.

But that comradery is now gone.

As far as the rematch between McGregor and Poirier, that is still not finalized and it won’t be until all parties reach a favorable agreement. Ferguson — who is coming off a loss to Justin Gaethje at UFC 249 — is now left in limbo. Though I here there is a certain ex-Bellator MMA champion eager to make his presence felt inside the Octagon.
