Cory Sandhagen just stopped Marlon Moraes with a sweet wheel kick in the UFC Fight Island 5 main event.

UFC Fight Island 5 main event was the setting where the promotion’s #4 ranked 135-pounder, Cory Sandhagen, hit a beautiful wheel kick on the #1 ranked, Marlon Moraes, to earn a second-round TKO. Sandhagen landed an assortment of strikes throughout and attacked all parts of the body, and really seemed to be in a groove by the second act. This is Sandhagen’s first elite finish, and he more than proves his worth as a potential title contender.

The bantamweights were quick to trade leg kicks, with both men finding success. Sandhagen was switching stances and working off of his jab. He would throw in a flying knee to change things up. Moraes was throwing his punches in combinations whenever they got in close, trying to counter Sandhagen. Towards the end of the round, Sandhagen started to crack with kicks to the liver. Moraes did score a last second takedown before the bell. In the second-round, Sandhagen came out and landed a spinning heel kick that dropped Moraes. He pounced right away with ground strikes, giving Moraes no chance to recover and securing the finish.
