Gilbert Burns fires back at Nate Diaz by highlighting the Californian’s twelve career losses.
Gilbert Burns took the bait.
Nate Diaz took to social media yesterday to trash Burns over his KO loss to Dan Hooker at UFC 226, hailing Hooker — a lightweight — the No. 1 welterweight in the world.

“Your boys the #1 welterweight right now,” Diaz posted in response to reigning UFC middleweight champ Israel Adesanya, who serves as Hooker’s teammate and training partner at City Kickboxing in Auckland, New Zealand.
Diaz’s tweets soon caught the attention of ‘Durinho’, who responded by mocking Nate’s less-than-stellar 20-12 professional MMA record.

Diaz may not have the record of a Khabib Nurmagomedov or Georges St-Pierre, but the former UFC lightweight title challenger is widely considered one of the toughest and most well-rounded fighters in MMA. Diaz earned MMA notoriety following his upset submission win over Conor McGregor at UFC 196, but the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt has always had a loyal following. The 35-year-old hasn’t fought since his TKO loss to Jorge Masvidal at UFC 244, which saw ‘Gamebred’ crowned the promotion’s first ever ‘BMF’ champion.
Meanwhile Burns, the No. 2-ranked welterweight in the world, is expected to challenge Kamaru Usman for the welterweight title sometime in the new year.
