Dan Hooker has responded to Nate Diaz by challenging the Stockton slugger to a fight — and he’s not too fussed about the weight class.

“So 55 or 70?” Hooker posed to Diaz.

Hooker’s response comes a day after Diaz posted video footage of ‘The Hangman’s’ knockout of then-lightweight Gilbert Burns at UFC 226, with Diaz hailing Hooker “the #1 welterweight right now”.

Burns, who now competes at welterweight, responded to Diaz with a joke about his somewhat uninspiring 20-12 MMA record, but Hooker seems much more interested in a fight.

Hooker hasn’t fought since his Fight of the Night epic with Dustin Poirier earlier this year, which saw ‘The Diamond’ earn a unanimous decision win after five hard-fought rounds in the UFC on ESPN 12 main event at the UFC Apex facility in Las Vegas.

Diaz, 35, is once again in a state of quasi-retirement following his TKO loss to Jorge Masvidal at UFC 244, which saw ‘Gamebred’ win the ‘BMF’ title.
