Season 29 of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) will make its ESPN+ debut in March 2021, featuring combatants from the bantamweight (135 lbs.) and middleweight (185 lbs.) divisions. Coaches for the combat sports reality show have yet to be revealed.

Casting is open through Friday, Nov. 13 with applications available for download at ufc.com/TUF. For the first time in the history of the series, casting will be done remotely with no physical tryouts because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Finalists will be selected by the end of the month.

Dana White’s “Contender Series” appears to be a much more direct way to earn a UFC contract but I guess TUF gives you more camera time, so those athletes who are looking to build their brand may be interested in this latest offering.

I’m also curious to see how the show handles social distancing. Perhaps things will have settled down by the time filming starts or the promotion will just follow the same rules it had on “Fight Island.”
