A few days after his fight against Ian Heinisch — which was set to go down last Sat. night (Nov. 7, 2020) at UFC Vegas 13 — was cancelled due to a positive COVID-19 test — Brendan Allen has sound himself another fight. According to this report from MMA Fighting, Allen will face Sean Strickland this Saturday (Nov. 14, 2020) at UFC Vegas 14 inside UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Since bursting onto the Octagon scene last year, Allen has been on a tear, winning three in a row including a big win over rising Middleweight contender, Kevin Holland. Overall, the former Legacy Fighting Alliance (LFA) 185-pound champion has won seven in a row.
As for Strickland, he has won two straight under the UFC banner including his unanimous decision win over Jack Marshman at UFC Vegas 12 just over a week ago. During his six-year stint with the promotion, Strickland has amassed an 8-3 record.
UFC Vegas 14 was set to be headlined by a Lightweight bout between Rafael dos Anjos and Islam Makhachev, but after Islam was forced out due to a staph infection, the fight was put on hold for the second time. As it stand, UFC matchmakers are looking for a late replacement, just don’t expect it to be Michael Chandler.
