UFC rankings: Dos Anjos back in contention at lightweight

Last weekend’s UFC event didn’t lead to a lot of changes in the rankings.

UFC Vegas 14 wasn’t the most relevant of cards. Paul Felder had to step up on five days of notice just to save the event, which was whittled down to nine fights by the time it took place. But Rafael dos Anjos made the most of being able to stay in the headliner, working over Felder and taking all five rounds in his return to 155. One crazy scorecard notwithstanding.

Here’s a look at the changes from this week, which also saw Khamzat Chimaev as a ranked fighter at 170 pounds despite not fighting anyone even close to relevant as of yet.

Men’s P4P – No changes.

Heavyweight – No changes.

Light Heavyweight – No changes.

Middleweight – Brad Tavares drops from a tie for 13 and gets 14 on his own.

Welterweight – Tyron Woodley moved past Demian Maia for the six spot, dropping Maia to seven. Anthony Pettis is up two to 12 for some reason. Belal Muhammad enters the rankings at 13. Robbie Lawler is up one to 14. Khamzat Chimaev enters the rankings too at 15.

Lightweight – Dos Anjos enters back into the rankings at in a tie for six with Charles Oliveira. Everyone else from seven down falls a spot to make room for the former champ.

Featherweight – No changes.

Bantamweight – No changes.

Flyweight – Brandon Moreno, who is on the UFC 255 main card, moves into a tie for the top contender spot with Joseph Benavidez. Jussier Formiga’s release allowed everyone from eight through 12 to move up a spot. Jordan Espinosa moved up two spots to 13. Amir Albazi enters the rankings at 15.

Women’s P4P – No changes.

Women’s Bantamweight – No changes.

Women’s Flyweight – No changes.

Women’s Strawweight – No changes.
