“The Last Stylebender” will call the action alongside “Sugar” Ray Leonard and Al Bernstein.
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) middleweight champion Israel Adesanya will be joining fellow commentators “Sugar” Ray Leonard and Al Bernstein behind the broadcast table for the upcoming Mike Tyson vs. Roy Jones Jr. boxing pay-per-view (PPV) event on Nov. 28 in California.
“I am so grateful that I am going to be there commentating,” Adesanya said (via Sports Illustrated). “Mike’s been retired for so many years, so this is something I never thought I’d see again. But as soon as I saw a clip of him training, I thought, ‘What the fuck? Mike Tyson is banging again.’”
The complete PPV card is expected to get underway at 9 p.m. ET with Tyson and Jones Jr. hitting the ring somewhere in or around the midnight ET range. The live feed costs $49.99 and can be streamed on FITE TV by clicking here.
“We’re not going to see an exhibition, this will be a fight between two war dogs gunning for each other,” Adesanya said. “I know fighting, I know boxing, and I’ve studied Tyson and Roy Jones. I know their strengths. I used to watch their highlights before my kickboxing fights just to fire myself up because I was such a fan. I can’t wait to be on this call with ‘Sugar’ Ray Leonard and shoot the shit about fighting and share some of my insights, as well.”
