(SPOILERS…)
Saturday, Nov. 21st., 2020, the UFC showcased a PPV (Pay-per-view) event featuring not one but two Title Fights. We saw Championship bouts for the men’s & the women’s Flyweight Titles on the UFC 255 card.
Overall, this 12-bout card saw two swift finishes in Rd 1 – including the main event, one sub, five exciting KO/TKO’s, & six decisions, Rounding things out, bonuses for putting forth POTN efforts went to Joaquin Buckley and Antonina Shevchenko; FOTN honors went to Sasha Palatnikov vs. Louis Cosce. What a wild night full of fights we have to discuss with you!
Tonight, recently crowned 32-year old UFC Flyweight Champion, Deiveson ‘Deus da Guerra’ Figueiredo, with a 19-1 record, made his first title defense, versus 28-year old contender, Alex Perez and his 24-5 record. In the co-main event the promotion’s other UFC Flyweight Champion, Valentina Shevchenko—who has reigned supreme for nearly two years — defended her title against former Invicta FC Champion, Jennifer Maia. Shevchenko entered the octagon with a 19-3 record vs. Maia’s 18-6, so far to date.
Also on the card, we had an additional exciting women’s Flyweight bout taking place between Katlyn ‘Blonde Fighter’ Chookagian and the Brazilian up-and-comer Cynthia Calvillo. Chookagian was coming off a loss to Jessica Andrade last month, via Hook to the Body in Round 1, while Calivillo entered the octagon off a unanimous decision win against Jessica Eye back in June of this year. As if that’s not enough, we also had the rematch no one actually asked for between Mauricio Rua and Paul Craig at Light Heavyweight. Perhaps one the most exciting bouts on this card was our featured prelim between Brandon Moreno and Brandon Royval; which was preceded by a fully-packed undercard with two sets of prelims. Join us to discuss all the action…
