Rachael Ostovich becomes the latest fighter to be cut from the UFC.
After three years in the promotion, UFC women’s flyweight Rachael Ostovich has been released following a series of recent losses.
MMA Junkie revealed the news on Monday. Ostovich’s UFC exit comes just a few days after president Dana White revealed the promotion plans to cut up to 60 fighters from their roster before the end of the year.
Ostovich (4-6) was signed by the UFC after her time on The Ultimate Fighter season 26 in 2017. The Hawaiian was eliminated from the competition in the quarter finals, but she picked up her first and only UFC win on the show’s finale against Karine Gevorgyan.
The 29-year-old lost her next three UFC fights, with the most recent being a TKO defeat to Gina Mazany last month. Ostovich’s other losses came to Paige VanZant and Montana De La Rosa, both by submission.
In January of this year, Ostovich was handed an eight-month USADA suspension after testing positive for ostarine due to a tainted supplement.
Before joining the UFC Ostovich amassed a 3-3 record with fights mostly with Invicta FC.
