UFC 256’s co-headliner could be hanging in the balance, depending on how heavy Charles Oliveira comes in on weigh-in day.
UFC 256’s co-headliner between Tony Ferguson and Charles Oliveira could be in danger of cancellation. But that will all depend on how heavy “Do Bronx” will come in on weigh-in day.
On Tuesday, “El Cucuy” sent out a warning via social media, stating he may bow out of the fight if Oliveira comes in 3-4 pounds over the limit.
“Hunger Gamez” -TUF13 – we are no longer working w/ my former nutritionists perfecting athletes. At the beginning of this camp, I made a conscious decision to trust in what got me here & the results are amazing. I have been competing in athletics for over 30 years, and making weight the same amount of time.
Weight is good and eating right!!! I am counting on the Brazilian @charlesdobronxs and others to come in overweight like usual. So I’m calling it now. Case Law: short-notice fight, @charlesdobronxs will not cut weight all week and show up 3-4 lbs overweight and use the excuse of a short-notice fight.
If he shows up that much overweight, we are not competing. So crew, make sure you visit the kids page @charlesdobronxs and encourage him to make the weight if you want to see a fight. Champ Shit Only™? Crew ?? -CSO- @ufc @danawhite @seanshelby
In Ferguson’s defense, Oliveira did miss weight four times while competing as a featherweight. The most notable incident happened in 2016, when he weighed in at 155 pounds for his 145-pound contest against Ricardo Lamas.
UFC 256 happens this Saturday, December 12 at the APEX Facility in Las Vegas.
