Floyd Mayweather and Rob Gronkowski are facing legal action over a product they endorsed.

According to Yahoo! Sports Floyd Mayweather and former NFL player Rob Gronkowski have been named in a class action lawsuit in connection with a teeth-whitening product they endorsed.

The lawsuit was filed by Burton Kraus. He is seeking $5 million in damages from Mayweather, Gronkowski, Snow Teeth Whitening and its founder. Kraus’ lawsuit alleges that Snow’s expensive light emitting device, which claimed to whiten teeth, was cheaply made and ineffective.

The lawsuit further accuses the named defendants of a “wide-spread fraudulent scheme to deceive consumers.”

Snow Teeth Whitening’s product includes a ‘whitening serum’ and an LED mouthpiece. It costs around $199. The product’s website features a “Floyd Mayweather’s Snow Teeth Whitening System” for sale.

Both Mayweather and Gronkowski have appeared in promotional spots for the product.

Former UFC champion Chuck Liddell has also promoted the product, though he has not been named in the lawsuit or accused of any wrongdoing.

Kraus’ lawsuit states that the LED lights in the Snow mouthpiece are completely ineffective. Yahoo! reports that Snow’s manufacturers have also claimed that their product (specifically the LED light) can protect people from COVID-19.

The lawsuit states that those claims from Snow demonstrate “greed and a complete disregard for human decency.”
