Zane Simon & Eddie Mercado are back to breakdown the UFC VEGAS 17: ‘THOMPSON VS NEAL’ event, which was broadcast from Las Vegas, Nevada’s #UFCAPEX Center. The guys will have hot takes, possible next fights, as well as reactions to the overall event in the player above, or on our Bloody Elbow Presents YouTube Channel and BE Presents Podcast Network. (SPOILERS…)

Tonight, Saturday, December 19th, 2020, in the main event of UFC Vegas 17, we had a main event featuring Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson vs. Geoff ‘Handz of Steel’ Neal. In our co-main event, we had fight veterans José Aldo ‘Junior’ vs. Marlon ‘Chito’ Vera.

Overall, this 12-bout card saw two swift finishes in Round 1, one submission, two exciting KO/TKO’s, nine decisions, including our five round main event. Rounding things out, bonuses for putting forth POTN efforts went to Jimmy Flick, Rob Font, Marcin Tybura, and Stephen Thompson; FOTN honors went to no one tonight. What a night of fights we have to share with you!

Also on the card, we had an exciting welterweight bout between Michel Pereira and Khaos Williams, which unexpectedly went to the judges scorecards. Just prior to that battle, we had a brief but fantastic bantamweight bout between Rob Font and Marlon Moraes. Which ended rapidly in round 1; which will most assuredly affect the rankings. Due to fight cancellations (thanks to COVID-19), the Anthony ‘Showtime’ Pettis vs. Alex Morono bout shifted into the position of the featured prelim, where they went the distance; with Pettis walking away with a decision win. Which was preceded by a slightly smaller than planned undercard. Join us to discuss all the action…
