Former UFC light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz is now a city councilman and while that sounds great on paper, “The Huntington Beach Bad Boy” is quickly finding out that his role requires genuine effort and a working knowledge of local government.

It also doesn’t help his cause when he talks into a microphone that’s turned off or parades around the room without a face mask, something that drew “formal disappointment” from another member of the city council.

“I would just like to register my formal disappointment in councilman Ortiz and Peterson ignoring the Mayor’s letter asking them to wear masks at this meeting,” he said. “I feel that it puts us at risk and I’m just very disappointed that it’s the position you’re taking.”

Ortiz tried to rebut, only to get blasted for a “false statement” that was “out of line.”

The final clip has Ortiz seconding a motion and then voting against it, which caused the decision to be reversed. I know this is only the second meeting but something tells me it’s going to get worse, before it gets better.
